About Dr. Cooper
Hello there!
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. I am Courtney Anderson, an LPC Associate with a passion for helping individuals and families navigate life’s most challenging moments. I am a native Texan, and when I’m not providing therapy, you can find me enjoying time with family, exploring the outdoors, and indulging in my love for good food and music.
My Story
Wearing many hats as both a clinician and an advocate, I understand how overwhelming it can be to juggle daily responsibilities while still prioritizing your own mental health and self-care. It’s easy to feel stretched thin or uncertain about how to take the next step toward healing and growth. That’s why I’m passionate about providing a safe, compassionate space where you can openly explore your concerns, gain clarity, and work towards creating the meaningful changes you want in your life.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds as they faced a wide range of challenges. I’ve guided clients through crises by helping them break overwhelming problems into manageable steps and teaching techniques like grounding exercises to regain a sense of control. For those recovering from trauma, I’ve provided a safe space to process their experiences and worked with them to build self-compassion and resilience through evidence-based approaches like Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I’ve also supported individuals in developing effective coping strategies, such as using mindfulness to reduce anxiety, practicing healthy communication skills to improve relationships, and setting realistic, actionable goals to foster personal growth. These experiences have shown me the value of meeting clients where they are and creating a personalized approach to help them achieve their unique goals and thrive.

I specialize in helping clients navigate challenges such as:
-
Healing from Trauma and Grief: Whether you’re facing the aftermath of a life-altering event or grappling with the loss of a loved one, I provide tools and support to help you process your emotions and find peace.
-
Managing Anxiety and Depression: We’ll work together to uncover the root causes of your struggles and develop practical strategies to reduce distress and foster emotional balance.
-
Behavioral Interventions: For those facing behavioral challenges, I guide clients toward healthier habits and improved decision-making skills.
-
Substance Abuse Treatment: If you’re battling addiction, I offer a nonjudgmental space to explore your triggers and build a path toward recovery.
-
Mental Health Assessments and Treatment Planning: I take a collaborative approach to understanding your unique experiences and creating a roadmap tailored to your goals.
-
Community Resource Advocacy: Navigating mental health systems or accessing community resources can be overwhelming. I help connect clients with the tools and support they need to succeed.
I draw from evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Trauma and Grief Component Therapy, to ensure that the care you receive is both effective and empowering. My goal is to help you not only overcome life’s challenges but also build the skills and confidence to navigate the future with strength and resilience.
