Therapy Services & Payment Information
Individual Therapy
Our individual therapy sessions offer a safe, supportive space for you to explore personal concerns and emotional struggles. Working one-on-one with a compassionate therapist, you'll have the opportunity to address anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, and more. Our therapists employ a range of modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based CBT. These techniques are tailored to meet your unique needs, promoting self-awareness, coping skills, and personal growth. Individual therapy is beneficial in helping you develop strategies to overcome obstacles, build resilience, and achieve your mental health goals.
Family Therapy
Family therapy focuses on improving relationships and communication within the family unit. Whether it's navigating changes, addressing conflicts, or supporting a family member's mental health, our therapists facilitate conversations that foster understanding and cohesion. Using techniques like Family Systems Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, we address concerns in a holistic manner, considering each member's perspective. Family therapy can help build stronger bonds, improve communication, and create a supportive home environment that nurtures the well-being of every family member.
Perinatal/Maternal Mental Health Therapy
Perinatal and maternal mental health therapy is tailored for individuals experiencing mental health concerns related to pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. Our specialized therapists are experienced in addressing issues such as postpartum depression, anxiety, birth trauma, infertility, and pregnancy loss. By using modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Mindfulness-Based CBT, we provide support and strategies to help you navigate this unique journey. The benefits include increased emotional support, validation of your experiences, and tools to manage mood and anxiety during this life-changing time.
Child & Adolescent Therapy
Growing up comes with unique challenges, and sometimes children and teens need extra support to navigate emotions, relationships, school pressures, and life changes. At Cooper Counseling & Wellness, we provide a safe, supportive space where children and adolescents can develop practical skills to better manage everyday challenges and build confidence in themselves.
Through age-appropriate, evidence-based approaches, we help young people strengthen emotional regulation, communication, problem-solving, coping, and social skills while learning healthy ways to manage anxiety, stress, behavioral concerns, grief, trauma, and life transitions. Our goal is not only to help children and teens overcome current challenges, but also to equip them with lifelong tools that support resilience, emotional wellness, healthy relationships, and success at home, school, and beyond.
Trauma Therapy
Trauma therapy aims to support individuals in healing from traumatic experiences, including childhood trauma, abuse, accidents, loss, or medical trauma. Our therapists use evidence-based approaches like Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Person-Centered Therapy to process distressing memories and emotions. Trauma therapy offers the benefits of improved emotional regulation, reduced symptoms of post-traumatic stress, and a pathway to reclaiming your sense of safety and control.
How Can Therapy Help?
The outcome of therapy can vary from person to person due to the specific needs and goals of each individual. Therapy is a process and it may take time to see changes and/or progress. Through a collaborative effort of both therapist and client, the following are potential benefits of therapy:
-
Enhanced self-acceptance and self-esteem
-
Improved self-awareness and sense of purpose
-
Improved management and expression of emotions
-
Improved relationships and social interactions
-
Enhanced communication and interpersonal skills
Finding a therapist who is a good fit for your specific needs is important to the therapeutic process. Being comfortable and feeling supported will help to enhance the commitment and collaborative nature of therapy, which in turn can lead to improved mental health conditions and overall well-being.

Clients will be responsible for all fees at the time of service and will be provided a superbill to file with insurance companies for reimbursement. Superbills are not a guarantee that insurance companies will reimburse for out-of-network services and the amount that clients will be reimbursed depends on the policy. It is recommended that all clients check their coverage carefully and ask the insurance provider questions pertaining to out-of-network mental health insurance benefits.
Questions to ask your insurance provider:
-
Do I have mental health coverage?
-
What is my deductible and has it been met?
-
How many therapy sessions does my insurance cover per year?
-
What is the coverage amount per session?
-
Do I have to obtain prior approval from my PCP?
Why some clients choose to pay out-of-pocket instead of using insurance:
-
Clients will not be limited to a certain number of therapy sessions which is routine practice for most insurance companies.
-
Insurance companies typically require a diagnosis to determine if they will approve mental health services. A diagnosis is not needed to begin services when paying out of pocket.
-
Insurance companies also have the right to audit client files including treatment plans and progress notes which compromises confidentiality.
